Growing Flowers for Charity

Great things happen when the community comes together. The proof of that is the recent collaboration between Plot 31 and Macmillan Cancer Support. They have taken a large plot on the Holcroft South site in Batford and have used it to grow dried flowers. See the transformation below!

Plot 20 - Transformation

The Beginnings

It’s hard to believe that Macmillan's plot was not much more than weeds and brambles. We decided to clear the plot back in 2018 in hopes of finding a lucky gardener who could look after it and make the best of the large area.

Plot 31 - A Community Garden

Plot 31 have already had a plot on the site which at first was overgrown and then was cleared and covered by the committee. The community plot is now extremely successful and loved by the gardeners led by the brilliant Louise & Helen. You can see the beginnings of Plot 31 below.

The Harvest

Below are some moments from the meeting that took place on the 26th of August 2021 to celebrate all the hard work that went into growing all the flowers.

We are extremely proud to have such activities taking place on our site and hope this is just the beginning!
