Volunteering at EHGC

This club relies upon the goodwill and efforts of volunteers. There are many ways you can contribute to the effective running of the club, to suit your abilities and the time you have available. For example, we need volunteers to take and collect club machinery to and from the companies we use to service and repair it. Everyone benefits when volunteers are prepared to cut the grass in communal areas at our sites and assist with the clearance and covering of the neglected plots. Many of these roles can be very fulfilling because you quickly see the direct results of your contribution.

The club would also benefit greatly from more 'Site Representatives'. These roles are quite varied but they don't need to be time-consuming. Site reps help identify and assist with more substantial works that require doing at our sites. They are the eyes and ears of the club. Site reps can also be the smiling faces that help new members of the club get up and running and they might communicate updates more generally to the members of their site using WhatsApp groups or similar media. Site Reps might also undertake one or more of the tasks identified above.

If you would like to get more involved in helping run the club, please get in touch with Martin, our club Chair, at the first instance at chair.ehgc@gmail.com.
